Opurum Out For kU E-mail

Via Oread Boom Kings, which is probably the only kU site you'll ever need. Yes, all kU fans are hated, but these guys are hated just a wee bit less (that is a compliment). Anyway, kU freshman runner Toben Opurum, who is arguably kU's best option in the backfield, is out for the Mizzou game.

Toben Opurum going out hurt us quite a bit. As we all know, he’s been our best back this year, particularly near the goal line. Not having him – or at least the threat of him – really hurt us in both first and goal situations that eventually led to FGs (Kerry was agonizingly close to getting that foot in). And as I’m sure you’ve all heard by now, he will again be out against Missouri this week.

Shit. Well there went any chance we might have had for a straight up head-to-head victory. Now we'll have to rely on a well-coached team to cohesively play to their full potential. Or a miracle. Not sure there's a difference. Maybe next year?
(Still gonna watch and hope for a win)

This one hurts. Outside of the QB draw, this was the only inside rushing presence we had.

Opurum is really the one guy from your recruiting classes the past few years I wish Mizzou had. Just my personal opinion.

Like I said, now if Dez or Kerry Meier can come down with some bacon flu by Thursday or Friday, I'll count this as a good week.
