kU Buying Ad Space On Other Team's Message Boards E-mail

Got this from a Vol friend in Knoxville (yeah, surprise). Apparently, the geniuses in the kU athletic department are buying ads for football tickets on other team's message boards, even teams located 12-14hrs away. Uh what?

Not that I'm a business owner, but, please have Lew Perkins send me the ROI on this.

It's funny, but it isn't like the marketing department called VolNation and discussed some agreement obviously.
It's like seeing a google recommended ad for spycams when I'm doing my Erin Anderson peephole video "research", I might not purchase it...but I am damn sure thinking about the possibilities.

I take it you saw Deadspin's Missing Scenes or whatever they call it today. I was laughing with the spy stuff at the end of the EA peephole piece.

I imagine it's supposed to be IP location specific through the ad agency. When I go to Tigerboard, I got a NCAA '10 ad pitting UT v Gawwwgia. Probably shouldn't have had the ad on in Knoxville!

Although, you guys are heading down here next season for basketball. Hmmm...

Yup, same article. Just noticed I typed Anderson, what the hell is that about

That's not exactly how internet advertising works guys. You buy certain keywords and the system finds which site it will display on. KU certainly didn't choose to put their ad on a Tennessee site.

Still funny. Kinda like the ad with Ricky Clemmons that occasionally shows up on Tigerboard.
