The horses on the coach's carosel are going crazy. Callahan 86'd. Insert Bo Pelini. Guy Morris out. Meet Art Briles. And we aren't done just yet.

A long time coming, Dennis Franchione...BE GONE! Sure, it was about as big of a surprise as my dad getting drunk at Thanksgiving (aka Inevitable). Honestly, I have no clue who wants the ATM gig. There's probably some assistant at Texas or even Brett Venerables (D-Coor) from Oklahoma (Ed Note- Mike Sherman took the gig. Yeah, very forgettable). Plus, Mike Leach could be done at the Double T. It looks like the Tech coach could either jump to UCLA or Arkansas. Leach and his Don Flamenco looks are Cali bred, so UCLA could be a nice offer.

Two jobs concern me at this point. The Michigan job must come with a bout of the plague and the doublewide in Arkansas must not be big enough. Since every retard from Les Miles to Greg Schiano have turned down Michigan, it looks like the Maize and Blue may have their eyes on a prettier prize; Gary Pinkel. I don't see how they don't contact him. Maybe they have. Hell, they even reportedly offered the gig to Kirk Ferentz. I'll let that sink in .................................................................................................. Yes, Kirk effing Ferentz. The guy that is the highest paid coach in the Big 11, yet didn't even get to a bowl this year. Is Pinkel under Ferentz in the coaching heirarchy? I'd say no. Hell, even if Mangino dropped only 200 pounds, which would put in the ballpark (still not in a seat) of 400, he would have a look. Pinkel's ties to the Michigan/Ohio area are as huge as Mangino's waist size.

The Arkansas job is also a little concerning. I would think Mike Leach would be a better pick, but ESPN is also thinking Bob Davie (wow, he was a great coach at ND) and Jim Donnan, who has been out of coaching since I was trying to make moves on flat chested girls, with freckles and braces. Sleezy still seems to hit on those same type of girls at the bus stop, but I haven't done that since the early 90s. I don't think Pinkel would take the job unless Arkansas backed up the Brinks truck with whatever Skoal inspired currency they use down there. Arkansas is basically a mirror of the Tigers; explosive spread offense, similar recruiting areas, blah blah blah. Leach is more iffy at Tech with his outbursts, and it seems like a lot of the boosters aren't big on him. Leach is basically what Gary Pinkel was in the past; couldn't win big games and on the hot seat. He would get a big boost to start with a clean slate.

I have never been one to question Gary Pinkel, even when our teams stunk worse than getting cropdusted by a sumo wrestler. I want him in Columbia for years to come, but I can't get it into my big head why Mizzou hasn't announced a new contract for Pinkel. When the new contract comes out, we can officially put to bed the possibility of him leaving. Until then, let the chances remain.
