That was a fun game to watch last night. Thanks to Buffalo Wild Wings for puttin it on the big screen right in front of my face for me! We dug a hole for ourselves in the first half as Michigan St. seemed on fire out of the gates. Keon was guarding Neitzel rather than Hannah and Neitzel had a nice night. I was particularly impressed though by the defensive intensity of the Tigers in the final 3 minutes of the first half, and the entire second half. We fought back and could have completed the comeback had the refs given Hannah the chance for the four point play when he got jacked in the arm.

Marshall Brown showed up last night and had his best game of the year so far. He made some plays on defense that really saved us several times, and poured in 12 points if I remember correctly. Very nice Marshall.

Hannah- This guy showed last night that he has some serious guts. In the final 3 minutes especially, he kept us alive by getting some tough 3 balls to fall. On a side note though, he also showed that he can still get out of control and likes to force things on offense when there's nothing there.

Matt Lawrence- didn't play much in the second half as CMA must have felt that what he gave us on offense was outweighed by what his defense allowed for MSU. I like the call, and M Law will see plenty of time this year. Last night was just too fast paced of a game and our defense was really causing problems for MSU in the second half. It just seemed like MSU was trying to survive (which eventually they did...barely).

Carroll finished up with 14 points last night. A lot of them were scrappy, but thats one thing this style of play creates. He didn't look like he did in the first few games, but still had a solid night.

Tiller flies around the court and is a pure hustler, but he gets going too fast for his own good at times and can't really control himself.

On a final note, last night was fun to watch. The Tigers didn't quit after falling behind 16 in the first half, and almost stole a win in the second half. We got pounded on the glass, but Anderson's UAB teams used to get owned on the boards and still went Dancin on a regular basis. Get used to being outplayed on the glass if you're a Tiger fan. We shot ourselves in the foot too many times when we really could have gotten the lead down within reach with a nice chunk of time left to play. When you play good teams, you have to close when you can. Overall, a good game, and if we bounce back and beat Maryland tonight, you can't be upset at all. From what I saw of their game last night with UCLA, Maryland looked very beatable as long as we aren't too worn out from last night.
