If you haven't noticed the Mizzou baseball team has been playing its best ball of the season lately and that carried over today in the Tigers' opening round game of the Big 12 Tourney with a 5-2 victory over Texas A&M in Oklahoma City. Mizzou has won its last four games and 12 of its last 14 to improve to 10 games above .500, (33-23) its highest mark this season.
Kyle Gibson led the Tigers by throwing six shutout innings while striking out seven and allowing only three hits. He's eight K's away from setting the Tigers' single-season record held by current Arizona Diamondback, Max Scherzer who sent away 131 batters in 2005.
Mizzou plays Texas Tech at 3 p.m. on Friday and Oklahoma at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
