Hell yeah, an opponent we've all heard of. Tonight's game is going down at the new Sprint Center in KC, and it should be a fun one. The tigers take on the 12th ranked Spartans in their first real test of the season. Hopefully, this year's first tough game goes as well as it did last year when Mizzou mopped the floor with Arkansas. No doubt about it, tonight's game would be an impressive win to have on our resume come March. The odds-makers have us pinned as 2.5 point 'dogs and I'll hand it to those bastards, they never make it an easy call. Here's what I'm excited to see tonight:

1) It looks like Mich St. may have a little size on us, but their biggest beasts aren't their most athletic or best players. Everyone is going to have to hit the glass for forty minutes. DeMarre Carroll may have to fight a little more to earn his points tonight, but he's looked like a man among boys so far (My guess on him is he ends up with a solid 14 points or so).

2) Hannah vs Neitzel. This looks like a fun matchup to watch, and Hannah will be out to prove that he's as good as anyone out there. Watch out for those quick hands of Mr. Hannah.

3) Dickie V. is calling tonight's game. We aren't a young team at all, but Mich St. has a solid freshman in Chris Allen (and we all know ol' Dick is bound to ramble on about irrelevant crap for half the night), so every time he uses the phrase "Diaper Dandy", my basketball drinking rules handbook states that you must kill your beer and grab a fresh one.

Prediction: I try my best not to be a homer, but I really feel like we have a hell of an opportunity tonight to turn some heads. The Spartans have solid guard play, which could make turnovers a little harder to come by tonight. Hopefully, if the press isn't working, we ditch it early and find some other way to win. If we win one in KC, I will be content, and I think we do it tonight.

MU: 81
MSU: 77

On a final note, the odds-makers made an easy one for us on my blood alcohol content (.22) on my birthday. If you took the over, you won at noon.
