Alright, we're perfect. 1-0 baby!!! Ok, back to reality...we were supposed to win this game---probably by more than we did. I bet the farm on this one and I'm pretty sure we didn't cover the spread. Shit, so long Betsy.
We'll start with the good:

1) DeMarre Carrol---ended with 23 points on a very questionable foul call. I'm not going to complain about the refs though since it seemed to favor us (especially in regards to their best player). This guy can get down the court in a way that we're not used to out of a big. Good or bad??? read on...

2) Maryland didn't scare me. P.S. : I've had some victory whiskey, but if both of us advance, it should be a barnburner.

3) Butterfield---looks like he will be playing early and he was working hard tonight.

4) DeMarre, Horton, and Lyons seem to know now that they shouldn't shoot threes...It took 20 minutes for Carroll, but that's better than the 15 games it took last year for some slow learners (acHooorton)...

Alrighty, we'll end with the bad:

1) Defense. I know I predicted 86-62 in favor of the Tigers... and it easily could have been! A lot of DeMarre Carroll's first half points are cancelled out by easy buckets for Central Mich. Why is he guarding the perimeter??? I know its man to man defense, but we're lacking a true center. Let the opposing center shoot some threes and just pad your stats with the free boards please!

2) UCLA. I'm scared...anyone else watching them right now?

3) Central Mich. hung in there, but hell, winning by 10 is a better wake-up call than making headlines tomorrow like Kentucky did with Gardner Webb. Let's just make the final rounds of the CBE classic and not let anyone notice.
