Jim Rome called this game the least hyped national title game of all-time thanks to the fact that in many people's minds (mine included) Texas, Utah and possibly even USC have already staked a partial claim to the title. Had Texas Tech not laid an egg against Ole Miss we could probably include them in this category.
It's kinda hard to root for either one of these teams. By all accounts Timmy Tebow is an outstanding human being. A humanitarian, a hard worker, good teammate, man of God, etc. etc. But there's something about him that I, and a lot of other people, can't stand. I don't know what it is but I think it's his face. And I know he's doing a great job. This is the National Championship game. We're all having a great time. Everybody's having fun. But if he doesn't change his face I'm gonna change it for him.

But this should be an entertaining game. There has been no shortage of moronic trash talk—not surprising considering the teams involved—so that should add for some added excitement. And these are two really good evenly matched teams and it should be interesting to see how OU's offense stacks up against an SEC defense. Last time I heard SEC fans saying a Big 12 team wouldn't be able to score on a defense from their conference was last year's Cotton Bowl. We know how that turned out.

As much as I would like to root for Oklahoma to represent our conference proudly I just can't bring myself to do it. Every time I see Bob Stoops I just want to slap that smug look he always has right off his face.

I happen to know several Sooner fans and they're all solid dudes, but I've heard enough mindless "Boomer Sooners!" over the last three years to drive a man to the brink of insanity. I know every Sooner fan isn't a Larry the Cable Guy clone right down to the cutoff flannel shirts and cammo caps, but enough of them are that I can't bring myself to cheer for this team under any circumstance unless they're playing kU.
That said, I don't think OU has any problem putting up points against the Gators. But this OU defense isn't nearly as dominant as it's been in the past. I see this one quickly turning into a shootout that will come right down to the wire.
Prediction: Florida 42 Oklahoma 34
