First off, I'll apologize in advance for my absence around here and depriving you of Mizzou hoops news. Finals are over, and for the most part, students are home now, which has led to some poor attendance recently (as expected). You can't expect too many to come out for Mcneese St and UNCA&T but I'd bet the farm that there will be a packed house at ScottTrade come Saturday.

If you missed the game on FSN last night, you have no idea what you missed. Norm Stewart had me to the point where I almost passed out from laughing so hard. He had to be drunk or on some medication, but I think he seriously should give stand-up comedy a try. I'm going today to pick up some Christmas socks in honor of Norm.

We didn't really run away with this thing in the first half, but since this is a CMA team as opposed to a Quin team, I never really broke a sweat in fear of dropping this one. Mizzou got up to a quick 10 point lead in the second half, and it was goodnight Aggies at that point.

The good:
1) Marshall Brown is starting to come around---still not playing up to his potential, but at least he's looked respectable in the past few games. Apparently during the Purdue game, he took over during a timeout and laid into his teammates, which really seemed to wake our asses up as we took over from that point on. Very nice to hear that kind of leadership come from Marshall even though he was struggling himself at the time.

2) DeMarre and Lyons have fed off of eachother very nicely recently, and DeMarre seems to be learning not to commit pointless fouls. Keeping him in the game against Illinois will be a huge factor for Mizzou.

3) Prior to last night, it was clear that someone told Horton not to shoot...EVER. Whoever got through to him on that one deserves a raise. I throw up in my mouth a little bit every time I see him wind up to shoot, but his ball handling and passing abilities are what make him important to this team.

The bad:

1) Whoever got the raise for telling Horton not to shoot, should earn a double raise by getting Tiller not to shoot the three ball.

2) Norm Stewart has to have a massive hangover

A couple days of practice are in order now, and Illinois is up on Saturday. I can't go due to my dad's 50th b-day, but if you have the chance to go...TAKE IT. This game is very special every time that I've been, despite the fact that we haven't won it since 1999. The line on this one would be even if it were up to me, and would look great on our resume come Selection Sunday.
