What an awesome year to be Mike Anderson. First your team is awesome and the entire Mizzou nation falls in love with you. Then you win the most games in Mizzou history, win the Big XII tourney, get to the elite eight, and start making some serious paper with a serious contract extension.

Now he's starting to rack up the awards. Two days ago he was awarded the Clair Bee Coach of the Year, which goes to the Division I men’s basketball coach who through his actions on and off the court makes an outstanding contribution to the sport of college basketball. He's only the second Big XII coach to ever win the award which has been given out since 1997.

And now today he's been awarded the Co-National Association of Basketball Coaches National Coach of the Year along with the former Memphis, now Kentucky coach John Calipari.

It's pretty damn awesome for him to not only be recognized by his fellow coaches for being awesome this year, but to also be recognized for his commitment to making sure that his players are not only great players on the court, but also great people off of it.
