Ian Kinsler's dream season is coming to a premature end. The former Tiger and current Texas Rangers second baseman was leading Major League Baseball in hits and runs but was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Monday with a sports hernia that could require season-ending surgery.

Kinsler was a relative no-name prior to this season (I didn't even realize he was an ex-Tiger until this year) but made people notice him after a monster first half. He was named the MVP of the American League for the first half of the season by Jayson Stark at the All-Star break.

If his season is finished he will end up with a .319 batting average, 18 home runs, 71 RBIs, 102 runs and 26 SBs. Possibly the best individual season by any former Tiger?
