From Steve Walentik's blog:
Perhaps the biggest star of the game for the Tigers, other than Carroll, who is looking more and more like a first-team All-Big 12 selection (more on that in Thursday's Tribune), was junior guard J.T. Tiller.
I told a colleague before the game I thought Tiller was establishing himself as one of the top contenders for Big 12 defensive player of the year honors, and he only strengthened his case with his performance against Sherron Collins, the top-scoring guard in the league. The KU junior finished with nine points -- half his season average -- on 4-for-13 shooting and committed six of the Jayhawks' 27 turnovers.
He is just the latest player to have his production choked by Tiller, who did the same thing to Curtis Jerrells and A.J. Abrams in the past two weeks.
"My guy, he's got to get defensive player of the year," Carroll volunteered after the game. "I'm saying that."
Hmmm, interesting. Discuss.
