NFL preseason is finally over, and the Sunday boys will line up on Thursday and toss ye ole pigskin around. Somehow, Brad Smith made the J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets again. Not that I'm anti-Brad, but he's made an NFL career out of being an "athlete". He was a great player at Mizzou (notice I don't say QB), but the "athlete" tag usually scares away NFL teams. Brad is a very good handyman player- good at most things, not great at any. He wasn't a great passer at Mizzou, but could run. Hit the waaay back machine at the top of the post.

So Brad miraculously made the squad because Mangenius loves #16. He wasn't terrible last year, but there are ton of "athlete" type players that never make it because they aren't up for the challenge of not being the man. Brad can probably still pull the ladies, but not Chad Pennington pussy. Brad is in a made up position, and if he wasn't with the Jets or Mangenius, would probably not be in the NFL. Face the facts peeps; he is Michael Bishop with decent legs. Ugh...Brad did make the decision not to just be a QB. If you remember correctly, in the post-season bowl games in '06, Brad bitched about not playing QB in the NFL. At that point, Big Head had doubts of any NFL career for Mr. Smith. But the Jets have used him perfectly. It's always going to be a struggle for him to keep fresh on the team, and when those legs lose thismuch speed, he will be out of the NFL.

Tony Palmer also made the Packers and Justin Gage made the Titans squad.
