I was following the game for a little while today and after three innings, I stopped.

At the time, Mizzou was down 5-0 to Miami, and it looked like it was going to be a bad day. When I came back later, the score was 5-3 after a three-run fifth (single and 2 RBI's from Senne; FC and RBI from Priday), so hey...we have a game here. They were cruising along until the eighth when Steve Gray hit a two run homer to tie it up at 5. All of a sudden, things were looking good vs. the top team in the country.

Kyle Gibson came into relief in the bottom of the eighth, recorded the first out, then proceeded to give up a walk, single, and another single to make it 6-5 Miami.

In the ninth, Lollis, Senne, and Priday couldn't get anything going and it was all over. A nice comeback after a rough start to this game, but disappointing to see Gibson get knocked around by the bottom part of the order.

If you're into moral victories, chalk one up for the Tigers. They had their chance today and couldn't finish. Up next is Ole Miss again in an elimination game on Sunday at 11am on ESPNU. If they win, they play Miami again at 3pm tomorrow. The Tigers showed that they can hang with MIA today, and it was unfortunate that they couldn't close the deal.

Box score here.

If you don't get ESPNU and would like to follow the game, cstv's game tracker is pretty cool. The little guys all run around and everything. As you can tell, I'm easily amused.
