I've written a lot about how impressive a player I think Cole Aldrich is. But from listening and reading about him I get the feeling he's not the sharpest tool in the shed. But he is a tool.
Recently Cole's alleged cell phone number was posted on a K-State message board which of course prompted hundreds of calls and text messages from Wildcat fans in preparation for their showdown with the beakers on Saturday. You hear about this kind of thing happening every now and then and most athletes just get a new number, maybe make a gesture at the student section during the game and move on. But apparently not Cole:
Nobody really knows for sure if this is real but if it is...what a dumbass. "It will be the greatest day in Kansas basketball history." Umm....what?! Cole, I don't know if you remember this, but about 11 months ago you won a National Championship. Remember that buddy? I don't know how much you know about college basketball but that's arguably a better win than beating K-State in Manhattan.
He's obviously not the most skilled trash talker either. "I can't wait to go in there and fucking drop 20-10 on you goddamned motherfuckers." 20-10 is nothing to scoff at but if you're talking trash to someone who helped flood your inbox wouldn't it be better to predict something like 30-15? I mean, why not tell them about all the sick weakside help defense you're gonna bring while you're at it, Cole.
Like I said, there's no way to confirm whether this is legit. But if it is, what an idiot.
