This afternoon the Mizzou softball team became the third Missouri team to win a Big 12 Championship this year by defeating Oklahoma 5-0 in the Big 12 Tourney Championship.

Lets quickly recap this fantastic season:
  • In early November the soccer team wins a Big 12 Tournament Championship by defeating Colorado 1-0 in the championship game.
  • A week later the Mizzou football team clinches its second straight Big 12 North title by defeating Iowa State 52-20. In December the team would win its third bowl game in four years (and clinch its second consecutive 10-win season) with a victory over Northwestern in the Alamo Bowl.
  • In mid-March the basketball team cruised to a Big 12 Tourney Championship by beating its opponents by a combined score of 221-179. That sparked a magical run to the Elite 8 that ended with a school record 31 wins.
  • A week after the basketball team won the Big 12 Tournament, Mizzou wrestler Mark Ellis was crowned National Champion of the junior heavyweight division. The Tigers finished No. 7 overall on the season.
And on top of all this there is still time for the softball team to make a run to the College World Series. And don't sleep on the Mizzou baseball team either. After a slow start to the season they appear poised to earn yet another bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Not a bad year for Ol' Mizzou.
