Mizzourah! - A Missouri Tigers Blog

I know we probably don't do it enough at times, but here's where we give dap to the gents at Rock M Nation, where their morning link dump is a must read. They have an article up by some douchebag ESPN'er named "Bill Connelly", who I imagine may just be a Boy (Must. Hate. Media.), on why the Nubs are as overrated as Megan Fox and some B12 North analysis.
RMN also tossed a link up to Jeff Sagarin, who happens to be what Bill James is to baseball, and his B12 North preview. Let's just say, Mr. Numbers Guru likes Mizzou. Matter of fact, he ranks them 18th going in to the season. I know you're asking yourself "What about Nebraska and kansas?". kU @ 25, Nubs @ 28.
And now you can mark off "Entourage quote as a post title" on your Mizzourah bingo card.
no commentsDave Matter was there. You weren't. I'll let the stats have at it for the 34-20 win for the D in Thursday's scrimmage. Looks like Gabbert had another great day. Here's a report from Power Mizzou on this shindig as well.

I know, wipe that surprised look off your face. The ex-kU'er got himself some battery and resisting arrest the day the Bucs broke camp. Sweet mugshot. Link for more. no comments

I don't think any Tiger fan will stop them, but Scout.com is filling their heads with thoughts of Blaine Gabbert handshaking receivers over and over. In an article from Fox Sports, Scout ranks BG as the fourth best QB of the future.
4. Blaine Gabbert, Missouri – While not as dramatic as replacing Tebow, Gabbert certainly has huge shoes to fill now that Chase Daniel has graduated. He’s not Daniel, but in time, that’ll be couched as a positive. At 6-5 and 235 pounds, he has the raw ingredients to someday become the most physically gifted quarterback to ever play at Mizzou. More of a pro-style passer than the last two Tigers to play the position, he has a predictably big arm, but also possesses surprising speed for such a big hurler. The ingredients are there for the Missouri passing attack to keep humming along in 2009.
Interestingly enough, CoMo's Logan Gray (Gawwwgia) is 22nd.
no commentsAnyone remember when we were just glad to be bowl
eligible? All the wringing of hands and bad expectations...I just don't get.
We have seen nothing but the increase in abilities and attitudes of our players. I am damned pleased that coach P sees talent in players that are overlooked by other programs and when they wear black and gold..we all often smile because of it.
RELAX...please RELAX.

We all know that the preseason watch lists mean dick, but it's always nice to be mentioned. Sean Weatherspoon has been included on the '09 Bronko Nagurski watch list for kicking ass on the defensive side of the ball. A handful of B12 players were on the list, including; Oklahoma defensive end Jeremy Beal and defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, Baylor 'backer Joe Pawelek, Texas d-end Sergio Kindle, Kansas defensive back Darrell Stuckey, and Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh. no comments
The luck ran out on the Tigers staying injury free on Tuesday. Starting tackle Dan Hoch sprained his knee, which could have been a lot worse. Jack Meiners moves up to the starting gig for now, but it appears Hoch will only be out two weeks, not bad considering what it could have been.
After Hoch went down in a pile, tight end Andrew Jones decided to bruise his hip (hip pointer). Jones might miss today's practice, but that should be it.
Then, Brandon Gerau blew up his left leg after making a catch. He'll miss more time than Hoch according to Dave Matter.

"Or how a guy feels about Florida or USC, that's how I feel about Missouri. I have a mock-up of a Mizzou jersey, No. 34. I look at it every morning before I come to school. It's going to feel real good in about a year and a half. But I have to get there first."Sheldon Richardson via some oddly put together newspaper article. no comments
