Via Adam Schefter's Twitter: "Cleveland waived tight end Martin Rucker and claimed tight end Greg Estandia on waivers from Jacksonville." Could the Kansas City Chiefs PLEASE claim this guy. I don't know if Trucker's gonna have a solid NFL career or not but I'm guessing he has more upside as a pass catcher than Sean Ryan, Brad Cottam or Bobby Wade who are all guys Matt Cassel has running routes for him. And yes those are real NFL players even though you've never heard of them. I didn't just randomly make them up.
Update @5:58 p.m.: Got a few more tidbits to add onto this. I was looking through some tweets between Dave Matter and former StL Post-Dispatch Mizzou beat writer and current ESPN.com scribe Graham Watson and thought this was kind of interesting:
@dmatter You know, we talked to one of the Cleveland beat writers on the radio and he said Mangini didn't know how to use him.
@dmatter The guy also said he was the best receiving tight end Cle had, which made it weird that he didn't play more on passing downs.Can you think of one reason why T-Ruck can't at least be a good pass-catching TE? I can't speak for his blocking but we know he can catch the ball and flat out run over defensive backs. This guy should catch on with someone in the NFL. Scott Pioli, please. I'm begging. I'll even reconsider bringing a paper sack to wear over my head the next time I go to Arrowhead if you make this move. Make it happen.
