So Brady Morningstar has twice the legal amount of booze, decides it's a good idea to get behind the wheel of a car, gets pulled over and eventually has zero charges pressed? Yes, that's what I'm telling you is happening.

I'm not going to attack Morningstar or Bill Self or kU for this because to be honest, Brady did something really stupid that unfortunately a lot of college kids (and people of other ages) do. He definitely deserved to be punished and needs to learn from his mistake but at the same time the fact that he drove drunk shouldn't define him and it shouldn't be a death sentence for him either. I also think the fact that Self is suspending him for the first semester's worth of games is an appropriate action for him to take.

But I do think the fact that the prosecutors are letting him off this easy sends an awful message to the rest of society. You know, the 99 percent that aren't Big Time Division I college athletes. If you got caught driving after having over twice the legal limit of alcohol do you think you'd walk away with a $500 fine and an agreement to not do it again in the next 12 months? Hell no. And we wonder why so many athletes walk around with a sense of entitlement. They act like they're above the law because they are above the law.
