Yeah, I know, game time is in a few hours. Blah blah blah. I have no excuses.

  • Blaine Gabbert has been on fire lately. No doubt about it. He's probably the best B12N QB going. I know that's not saying much, but the talent level between him and every other QB is widening...and he's started 11 games. Dude is just flat out tits.
  • DaNario Alexander will be a huge test for the Iowa State secondary. He is a huge receiver, and ISU has Keebler Elves back in the secondary. This will be a great match-up for the Tigers, and look for BG to exploit this, big time. DA can break Jeremy Maclin's '07 records in this game.
  • Missing Jared Perry could be big if Jerrell Jackson doesn't step up. JJ had a big game last week, and with Perry gone, look for Gabbert to split looks at JJ and Wes Kemp more often, maybe even throwing to Andrew Jones or Beau Brinkley more at TE. I know, novel concept, right?
  • It's the last game at 'The Zou'. If I read/heard this correctly, with a win today, this set of seniors will break last year's set in total wins at Mizzou. To say it's been a nice run is an understatement.
  • Iowa State is drastically better than the ISU we've come to remember lately. Paul Rhodes has the 'Clones going. To be honest, they are the only team that has improved that much from the past year.
  • In my mind, Rhodes is the B12 coach of the year over Bill Snyder. You know, that whole "being bowl eligible" thing should count towards Rhodes' campaign. Grandpa Bill could be headed home for the year after today. ISU isn't.
  • ISU has cooled off a bit, but they are winning the games they are supposed to win. They can count Colorado, Nebraska (on the road), Army, Kent State, and NDSU as victims. Good thing for Mizzou? They aren't supposed to win this one.
  • Mizzou has lost three straight at home after a pretty long winning streak. These seniors don't want to end their career at Faurot with four straight losses.
  • Iowa State's D is hot from last week. They gave up three points in four goal line stands against Colorado. Of course, Mizzou's redzone ability hasn't been great to begin with, but the Tigers are a hell of a lot better than the Buffs on O. Mizzou scores long TDs, and ISU likes to give up big chunks of yards.
  • Iowa State is a lot like K-State: solid running back, questionable QB and wideouts, and an ok defense. Look for Yost and Stec to continue their gameplans from last week against Iowa State.
  • Mizzou is now 15 point favorites, up from 13 earlier this week.

Get your Victory Whiskey ready again. This Tiger team is as potant as that 3/4 whiskey drink you usually make (puss, drink it straight!). Too many weapons and too many good matchups for Mizzou to piss this away. Of course, Gabbert can't make mistakes, and he hasn't here lately. I'll go 38-17 Tigers, with DaNario Alexander going off today.

Of course, RockMNation will be live threaddin' it, you can listen to the game HERE.
