I will preface this by saying (surprise!) I'm white. I have several black friends, and know several black people, and even my President is black, a fact that I figured out when I ran into him on the streets in Peoria, IL back in '05. With that said, it should be a given that I'm not cool enough to know what the hell Mizzou's '09 motto of "Beast Mode" is.
I was initially brought into it's beastieness by '09 Mizzou commit Marvin Foster when he befriended us on MySpace, and to my dismay, "Beast Mode" had nothing to do with the Beastie Boys.
Ok, if you haven't had a seizure after looking at that picture, read on. That edition of MySpace Monday made me yearn to figure out the actual meaning of "Beast Mode". Please, watch where you step, because I'm about to drop knowledge on your silly ass. I went to Urban Dictionary for the answer(s).
1). A hype, energetic, outgoing, wilding out state of mind.
2). When in a state of serious training or at a level of high effort.
3). A state of or doing anything accessively and or aggressively; wildin' out. To Over-Do it
4). a state of mind in which a person becomes angry or have "beast like" personality. Orgin-Lil Boosie's beast mode; can also be refered to a person who is high and is layed back
So, we're good, right? Basically, it just means go insane on some fools.
Now, if someone could explain "Lil Boosie" to me, we'd be all good.
